What is an eBook?
eBooks are a digital version of a conventional printed book and are usually read on personal computers, or on dedicated hardware devices known as eBook readers. Many mobile phones can also be used to read eBooks. eBooks have the added benefit of being quick to download (average download time is 3-5 minutes), and allowing users to search and organize content easily.
How do I purchase and download an eBook?
Once you pay for an eBook, you will be taken to a confirmation page containing a secure link in order to download the eBook from. Download instructions will be found on this page. Please note that for eBook pre-publication orders, the download instructions will be provided to you on the release date.
What do I need to read eBooks?
In order to read any eBooks in the CCH library, you need a PC, Mac, or hand held device and eBook reader software (provided free of charge) by Adobe Digital Editions.
What is Adobe Digital Editions?
Adobe Digital Editions is a free eBook program designed to view and manage eBooks and other digital publications. Adobe Digital Editions supports industry-standard eBook formats, including PDF/A and EPUB.
Does Adobe Digital Editions have any system requirements?

Can I download eBooks to my hand held device?
Yes, if you are using a PDF reader that is compatible with your hand held device. For iPads or Andoid hand held devices, there are Apps such as Adobe Reader X for mobile devices.
Can I Copy my eBook?
CCH eBooks are protected against copyright infringement and should not be copied. Please refer to our eBook License Agreement below.
CCH Canadian Ltd. Legal & Business eBook License Agreement
This is an agreement ("Agreement") between CCH Canadian Ltd. ("CCH") and the user of the eBook (such party being hereinafter referred to as "Customer").
The Customer's use of this eBook constitutes agreement to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. This Agreement, or any part thereof, cannot be changed, waived, or discharged.
eBook Usage. This eBook may be used on a maximum of five personal devices owned by a single individual. The Customer of the eBook shall be subject to all of the terms of this Agreement and any parties to which the devices are loaned are also subject to all the terms. Loaning out of the devices to others who access CCH eBook content is restricted to short-term temporary usage by a colleague in the same organization.
Printing and Reproduction. All rights reserved. No part of this work covered by the publisher's copyright may be reproduced or copied in any form or by any means (graphic, electronic, or mechanical, including prating, recording, taping, or information and retrieval systems) without the written permission of the publisher.
A license, however, is hereby given by the publisher:
- To a lawyer to make a copy of any part of this publication to give to a judge or other presiding officer or to other parties in making legal submissions in judicial proceedings;
- To a judge or other presiding officer to reproduce any part of this publication in any decision in judicial proceedings; or

How long will my eBook be available for download?
Once purchased, an eBook will be available for download for up to 1 year.
How many times will I be allowed to download my purchased eBook?
CCH will allow for up to 2 downloads per/eBook purchased. This is to allow you to load your eBook onto more than one computer (for example, a work and home PC). If you require additional downloads of a purchased eBook, please contact customer support at: 1-800-268-4522
What is your refund policy for eBooks?
Please note that eBooks cannot be refunded once the download link has been provided.
