The Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (2007) Remission Order has been enacted by the federal government in relation to premium overpayments made between the period of January 1, 2006 and October 25, 2006.

The Order remits the additional Employment Insurance premiums paid by employers to increase benefits payable under a provincial parental insurance plan that pays eligible workers maternity, paternity, and parental benefits upon the birth of a child and adoption benefits for the adoption of a minor. Currently, the only provincial parental insurance plan exists in Quebec, under the Parental Insurance Act.

Remission Order SI/2007-112 became effective on December 12, 2007.
